Robert Heslett, President of the Law Society of England & Wales, visited Liverpool in April for a two programme of meetings and events, first of which was a lunch with the Merseyside JLD, hosted by DWF LLP. The meeting was both lively and engaging with honest and frank views expressed on the issues currently facing the profession. The President commented that he had greatly enjoyed the session and stated how impressed he was with those attending on behalf of their members. The session presented a wonderful opportunity for the MJLD to have the ear of the Law Society and it was one which they grasped with both hands. The views and opinions expressed at the meeting will prove invaluable in assisting the Law Society to appreciate the issues that concern trainees and newly qualified solicitors. The President wishes to express his sincere thanks to those who attended the meeting and for making it such a worthwhile and enjoyable meeting.
