THE FOOTBALL 'MILLENNIUM TROPHY' - 29 January 2011
We have, along with the Dublin Branch of the Irish Law Society, co-founded football’s version of the Millennium Trophy (well almost)!! That's right...the Irish are coming...and England’s hopes are now resting upon us to ensure that our great national pride is preserved!! All ages, abilities and sexes are welcome! For those that don’t want to play but would like to join in, a group (again both sexes are welcome!) will be shopping and lunching while the football is being played.
In short, an Irish contingent from Dublin will be braving the Irish Sea (or Ryan Air!) in a vain attempt to conquer the English shores on Saturday 29 January. These noble delegates will then embark on an age old English tradition...football, and will then head out on Saturday night for some jovial merriment!
The football is 11-a-side and so we need about 14 players. We have received more than enough interest, but if you can and would like to play on, please do confirm you availability to anthony.willis@brabnerscs.com.
We also hope that many of you will join us on the Saturday (MJLD Event) and/or Sunday (just around Liverpool) nights to show our Irish counterparts a really good weekend in Liverpool. We are currently finalising the Saturday Event, but I am sure that there will be plenty of drinks flowing!
The ultimate aim is that we then go over to Dublin in 2012, and begin to establish this as an annual event. A trophy will be presented to the winners, and so I am sure that the losing team will not be able to ignore the chance to win it back!
More details will follow next week, for the time being please just keep these dates free......
Many thanks
Your MJLD Committee
