The MJLD’s annual Summer BBQ was this year held at La Cubanita, a Cuban restaurant and cocktail bar in Campbell Square, Liverpool.  Over 75 members gathered to enjoy the complimentary BBQ and drinks and to socialise to the sound of a live Cuban band.  The event was the first in the social calendar for the newly elected MJLD committee and provided members with the opportunity to get to know their representatives for the year. 

The MJLD took the opportunity to introduce their nominated charity for 2011/12, Clatterbridge Cancer Research.  In aid of the charity, the committee organised a short quiz which raised over £50 on the night.  Congratulations to Dan Gardiner, a trainee solicitor at Hill Dickinson LLP, whose ruthless competitiveness earned him victory in the quiz and a bottle of La Cubanita’s finest champagne! 

The event was a resounding success with fun had by all.  The MJLD would like to thank Wesleyan for their kind sponsorship of the event and La Cubanita for providing a heavily discounted bottle of fizz.
