What is the Liverpool Law Clinic
-
The Liverpool Law Clinic was established in October 2007 . Law Students provide legal services to members of the local community under the supervision of qualified Solicitors and Barristers from the North West.
How can you help?
-
By volunteering to supervise a couple of interviews students conduct with clients and then providing comments (over email) on follow-up letters of advice that they draft to the client.
How often?
-
The clinic is open each Tuesday and Thursday during term time for appointments at 12 noon and 1 pm
What will you need to do?
-
You will be given notice of your appointment together with brief details of your case
-
Meet the students (who work in pairs) 15 minutes prior to the appointment to discuss the case
-
Supervise the interview which will last approximately 30 minutes
-
The students will then have approximately 2 weeks to prepare a letter of advice for you to check.
-
Once you have approved the letter, the letter will be approved by the Manager of the Law Clinic before being sent out to the client.
