The election for our new Charity Representative is now open! 

A personal profile of each nominee is set out below. 

1.    Lisa Newton

I am currently working for Heaney Watson Solicitors as a Trainee Legal Executive. I am in my third year of the ILEX course, studying at the Law Academy in Liverpool. Whilst I am a new face to the MJLD, I do intend to have an active role in all forthcoming events. I am very driven and motivated and believe that these are key ingredients when it comes to a good fundraiser. I have a keen interest in supporting charities and have been an active fundraiser for Clatterbridge Cancer Research for many years, a charity which is close to my heart. Alongside this I have also raised money for numerous other charities, taking part in sporting events, scary challenges and most of the time making a fool of myself for a good cause! I work well as part of a team and believe that, if I were elected as Charity Representative, I would be able to come up with some new and exciting ways to raise a lot of money for those who need our support! I believe that strengthening the MJLDs ties with charitable organisations is paramount and would put 100% into my role as Charity Representative if I were elected, so please vote for me!

2.    Charlotte Leith

I am Charlotte Leith, a Trainee Solicitor at DLA Piper. Being the Charity Representative for the MJLD would be an excellent way to raise money for worthy causes and I would really enjoy organising events which could do that. I would try to create some original ways of fundraising which would involve as many people as possible.  Doing so within the MJLD would also provide an opportunity to bring together those within the legal profession, enabling young solicitors to socialise in an informal context and in pursuit of a common goal.
